Vermouth & Ceramics

Paint your own ceramic piece while enjoying an authentic l'hora del vermut in the heart of Gràcia.

Discover Barcelona in a different way: through ceramics, local culture and one of Catalonia’s most beloved traditions — l'hora del vermut.

We’ll welcome you to our ceramics studio in Gràcia, one of Barcelona’s most distinctive and artistic neighbourhoods. A place to step away from the pace of the city for a few hours, sit around a table, share something delicious and create with your hands.

Vermouth, Tapas & Catalan Culture

L'hora del vermut hour is much more than simply having an aperitif. It’s that moment of the day when friends and family gather around a table, chat, share something to eat and simply slow down for a while.

And that’s how we’ll begin.

We’ll share Catalan vermouth, local wine or beer, accompanied by Iberian ham, cheeses, chorizo and olives. Along the way, we’ll talk about Barcelona, Catalan traditions and, of course, ceramics.

There’s no need to rush — we’ll have around 2.5 hours to enjoy, paint and create.

Then, It’s Time to Paint

You can choose your piece from mugs and cups up to 300 ml, bowls, decorative tiles, plates up to 20 cm, and small vases. If you fall in love with one of our larger or more special pieces, you can choose that too by simply paying the difference.

From there, the design is entirely yours.

We have templates created in our studio and inspired by Barcelona: the iconic Barcelona Panot, Gaudí and Casa Batlló, Modernist ornaments, and designs inspired by the worlds of Miró and Picasso.

You can use them as a starting point, combine them, or ignore them completely and paint something entirely your own.

You don’t need to know how to draw or have any previous experience painting ceramics. We’ll be there to help you choose colours, bring your idea to life on your piece, and show you any techniques you might need.

Paints, brushes, materials and, probably, the occasional ceramic opinion when you ask for it — that’s all on us.

Your Own Souvenir from Barcelona

We love the idea of coming home from a trip with something you could never have simply bought in a shop.

Maybe you’ll paint the mug you’ll use for your morning coffee, a bowl for breakfast, a plate for your table, or a tile that will find its place on a wall at home.

When you’re finished, your piece will stay with us. We’ll professionally fire it in our kiln so that it’s not just decorative, but a finished, functional piece of ceramics that you can use every day.

It will usually be ready to collect 2–3 days later. If you’ve already left Barcelona by then, ask us about shipping options.

An Experience to Share

Whether you come on your own, as a couple, with friends or with your children, the idea is to share a table, enjoy ceramics and spend a lovely time together.

When one or two people join us, we usually bring them together with a small group. We like to keep the spirit of a true hora de vermut: people gathered around a table, conversations that happen naturally, and everyone painting something completely different.

And families are more than welcome.

Children paint just like the adults and can choose from the same pieces or from our selection created especially for them, with animals, tiles and other fun shapes.

While adults can enjoy Catalan vermouth, wine or beer —for guests aged 18 and over— we’ll have juice or water and an ensaïmada for the little ones.

Age and experience don’t matter. Just come ready to enjoy yourself and create something of your own.

In the end, you’ll take home more than a souvenir: a little piece of Barcelona made by you.

The experience costs €50 per person and includes one ceramic piece from our selection, all materials, glazing and firing, as well as vermouth and tapas.
